FFX = FFVII?

I think I can honestly say that I love this stuff. Good games have well-planned worlds and characters in them and FFX and FFVII both fit this bracket. The best thing is, that having such a nice world gives endless possibilities to form theories in the players' heads about the said game and characters. This page will introduce the one theory, that I personally like because it makes you think. If you're the type to think too much about fictional universes' happenings, that is. Luckily, I am one of those people. So onto the theory we go!

Many have wondered if both Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy VII happen in the same universe. There are several pointers against and for this theory (complete with pictures!), I'll just list a couple of things that makes it seem like it is true.

1) Life-energy. In FFX-2 Shinra tells about a green substance inside of the planet that seems to hold massive amounts of energy, and that if it's used right, it could provide electricity to all of the people in the world.
Now, to those of you who know nothing about FFVII, Lifestream is the substance of the game's planet, Gaea. It is green...liquid (? Don't really know, it's kinda stringy...) that can heal and kill. After a living organism dies, the soul returns to the lifestream.
Lifestream is a green substance....Shinra detected a green life form of sorts inside the planet that can be harvested for energy. In FFVII there is a big corporation called Shin-Ra that uses the Lifestream to provide electricity to the people. Coincidence?

2) Map. Here comes the pictures. I have a capture of the FFVII and FFX world maps side by side to let you compare. They do look remarkably similar, if you don't count that the western continent seems to...not be there in FFX's map. But if anyone familiar with the theories about earth moving and how the continents used to be together but separated over time can see the changes and similarities in these two maps. Oh, and is it just me, or does Wutai (the island in the west on FFVII map) look like Japan flipped horizontally? Not related to the theory, I'm just curious.

3) Places. I know this kinda overlaps the map-part, but I wanted to separately point it out. You know where Zanarkand is? If you don't, look at the map (I think I put it around the right place...bad memory -_-'). Now look at the equivalent place in the FFVII map. Northern Crater, the start of all evil (close to the Forgotten Capital, too). Zanarkand is where the whole stories of FFX/X-2 start, and Northern Crater is one of the key places in FFVII. And I think Bevelle is around the place where Midgar is...I can't make head from toe of the FFX map, though. Both are big cities and centers of power.

I know there's more...I just can't get my thick head to remember them....Oh well. You know, this theory is really cool and kind of keeps up guessing if Tidus and Yuna are the forefathers of Cloud and co but it is also highly possible that Square just made it like that by accident. Or they're laughing at us fans for making a mountain out of a molehill. I could so envision it.
