Bright and optimistic. Tifa always cheers up the others when they're down. But don't let her looks fool you, she can decimate almost any enemy with her fists. She is one of the main members of AVALANCHE. She and Cloud were childhood friends, and although she has strong feelings for him, she would never admit it.

Trustworthy as the official booklet is supposed to be, I personally don't think the information above is completely accurate. All of this will be explored deeper in further articles, but I, for once, don't agree with labeling Tifa as "optimistic", for this is an occasional trait of her personality, not one that can define her character overall; also, as it is mentioned in the game, Cloud and herself weren't close enough in Nibelheim to be considered "friends".

Either way, as one of the main characters in Final Fantasy VII, Tifa is an introverted, self-sacrificing young woman who, despite being a strong individual who can stand on her own, is still dependable on her loved ones on many levels, like any of us; sensitive, supportive and loyal, she's one of the reasons that keep the group of allies together throughout the game. A whole life of losses and heartbreaks has made her one of the most human characters in the whole series, and therefore extremely easy to relate to. The player first meets her very soon in the game at her 7th Heaven bar in Midgar's Sector 7 slums, after Cloud's first mission with AVALANCHE.
